Choosing Beau Bijou Design was a no-brainer!
We decided to start our kitchen project because we were extending into a side return and updating an old kitchen to create more space for our family. I found Beau Bijou Design through a Google search for ‘DIY Kitchens Design Service’, and their connection with DIY Kitchens was a big factor in my decision.
We were looking for value for money, and the promise of a free design consultation and a refund on the design service really sold it for us. Before working with Beau Bijou Design, my biggest concern was the accuracy of measurements. Kitchen planning is a real skill, and I wanted to be sure everything was designed correctly. Our project involved a side return kitchen, including structural work with steels, new flooring, electrics, plumbing, and coordination with multiple trades.
From my first call with Chris, the process felt very personable. Having one point of contact via WhatsApp worked brilliantly. Chris was patient, helpful, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making recommendations. When I compare my original DIY Kitchens plan to the kitchen we have now, the difference he made is incredible.
We really appreciated being offered alternatives beyond DIY Kitchens. Hallas & Hill offered noticeably higher quality for a little more cost. After talking with Chris about features and services, we decided to go with his recommendations. We chose a Quooker tap, Hex sink, and Sycamore Lighting pack. The instant boiling tap has been brilliant – we wouldn’t want to go back to a kettle. The Hex sink has resisted scratching and still looks immaculate, and the LED lighting under the island and units is perfectly balanced.
Everything was delivered exactly as promised and clearly conveyed from the outset. Hallas & Hill, in particular, stood out. After visiting DIY Kitchens in person, we had a kitchen in mind, but Hallas & Hill’s craftsmanship was clearly superior. The opportunity to buy a trade-price kitchen made the decision easy. We love the colour and grain of the cabinets, and the hinges and runners feel premium. Chris was especially helpful in advising on the internal carcass colour, which complements the exterior beautifully.
During installation, our kitchen fitter had a few questions about fitting end panels and posts, but with Chris’ help, we resolved everything quickly.
Now that we’ve been using the kitchen for a while, we’re extremely pleased with the outcome.
